7:35 AM – 8:00 AM	Mala Maathal	An exchange of garlands between the couple involving a lighthearted challenge.
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM	Oonjal	Showering blessings on the couple as they gently sway on a decorated swing (the Oonjal) while women remove evil eye.
9:05 AM – 9:20 AM	Pillayar Pooja	Sacred invocation seeking divine blessings for the smooth and auspicious conduct of the rites.
10:15 AM – 10:30 AM	Dharamani Dharana	The bride receives the sacred chain of black beads from her mother with blessings to start her new life.
11:15 AM – 11:40 AM	Mala Dharana	The ceremonial exchange of garlands.
12:30 PM – 12:45 PM	Mangalya Dharana	The tying of the sacred thread.
12:45 PM onwards	Lunch
12:50 PM – 1:15 PM	Saptapadi	The seven steps, each representing vows taken by the couple.
1:15 PM onwards	Kalyana Homa	The concluding ritual seeking blessings for the couple.
